Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Driver: Hauls farm materials and commodities produced on the farm in the state of North Carolina within a radial of 144 miles from the field in which it was grown (in its unmanufactured state) to storage or to market or to a carrier for transportation to market. Drivers will be able to return to their residence or to the employer-provided housing sites listed in the job order each day, and no overnight stay required. May load and unload truck using forklift. Drive a tractor-trailer combination with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more. Must abide by precise instructions and strict but necessary safety rules and policies. Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order. Secure and cover farm commodity for transport. Maintain logs of working hours following all applicable state and federal regulations.
