Warehouse worker in Oklahoma: licence, certification and what employers require (2026)

Oklahoma does not license warehouse workers: no licence. This page says what a warehouse worker licensed or working in another state has to do to work in Oklahoma, in the order to do it, and what goes wrong when the order is reversed.

How the transfer works

Nothing is licensed and nothing transfers; warehouse work in Oklahoma is hired on availability, shift and record. Forklift certification is done by the employer.

What to have ready before you move

• References and a work history
• Forklift cards if you have them

Start the paperwork before you give notice. There is no Oklahoma licence to wait for, so the only clock is the employer's.

What people get wrong

• Comparing hourly rates without comparing shift differentials and rent

Who hires warehouse workers in Oklahoma

Warehouse workers in Oklahoma are hired by distribution centres, e-commerce fulfilment, third-party logistics and manufacturers. The metros with the most of that work are Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Norman and Broken Arrow. Employers who could not hire locally and have filed with the Department of Labor are on the Oklahoma openings page.

For the money side: the median warehouse worker in Oklahoma earned $33,900 a year ($16 an hour) in May 2024 across 31,230 jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and Oklahoma has a progressive state income tax with a top rate of 4.75%. What that leaves you after tax is its own page.

Oklahoma also has a program that pay people to move in: Tulsa Remote ($10,000, for full-time remote workers who move to Tulsa for at least a year; the longest-running program of its kind). Each has a residence condition and a funding round.
