What the work involves

Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary. Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as semi-trucks and tractors. Examine and listen to equipment. Dismantle defective machines for repair, using hand tools. Clean and lubricate parts. Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, welding equipment, grinders, or saws. Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools. Tune or overhaul engines. Drive trucks to haul tools and equipment for on-site repair of large machinery. Repair bent or torn sheet metal. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday. Drivers in the U.S. must read and speak English well enough to understand traffic signs, talk with the public, respond to official questions, and fill out work records under 49 CFR 391.11(b)(2).
