Cleaner in Kentucky: licence, certification and what employers require (2026)

Kentucky does not license cleaners: no licence. This page says what a cleaner licensed or working in another state has to do to work in Kentucky, in the order to do it, and what goes wrong when the order is reversed.

How the transfer works

Nothing is licensed; cleaning and janitorial work in Kentucky is hired on availability and record. A background check is standard for schools and hospitals.
