Job duties include diagnose, adjust, repair, perform routine servicing on equipment and trucks used to harvest and haul a perishable crop; fix and repair metal damaged on equipment; must be able to cut, fabricate, and weld metal; repair/maintain farm vehicles, implements, mechanical equipment and trucks; 2 months or less previous experience of repairing & maintaining sugarcane harvest equipment required. Job involves extensive sitting, exposure to extreme temperatures, repetitive movements, and frequent stooping. Must be able to lift/carry sufficient weight (approximately 50 pounds) to move equipment and material necessary to complete assigned tasks. The Employer will rely on workers own representations and observations of workers to assess if the workers meet this qualification. Travel may be required to and from the field locations; transportation is provided; drug screening may be required upon hire and randomly (paid for by employer). Worker may be paid above the stated hourly rate commensurate with experience, expertise, and job-related skills, at the employer’s discretion. Bonus may be paid at the end of the contract at the discretion of the employer. Base hours offered is 49 hours; additional hours are usually offered during a plentiful season and may include 10-40 additional hours of work depending on the nature of the season.
