Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, and storage of crops, Grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, and quality to ensure correct processing and usage. Operate and monitor grain conditioning equipment to ensure efficient and safe conditioning of grain to meet quality standards. Operate fans and vents to control moisture and temperature of grain to maintain highest grade possible. Weigh products or estimate their weight, visually or by feel. Discard inferior or defective products or foreign matter, and place acceptable products in containers for further processing and shipping. Guide products to regulate flow through machines, and to discard diseased or rotten products. monitor and report grain moisture and grades. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including cleaning conditioning equipment, storage areas, and surrounding facilities. Remove snow from work areas as needed. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the team. Load semi’s with hopper bottom trailers without over or underfilling trailers; drive and deliver grain to market using semi-trucks. Daily feeding and care of livestock including processing bales of hay, monitoring water supplies, breaking ice on tanks, thawing water lines, assisting with birthing calves and other general livestock care. Must speak and understand English.
