Crawfishing involves manually cutting up fish bait, boxing bait, baiting traps, operating motorized/pushing crawfish boats, traps are removed from the pond, crawfish are emptied onto tray, sorted, and placed into sacks; traps are re-baited and put back into pond, stock crawfish ponds; set out and pick up crawfish traps; remove trash and other matter from harvested crawfish; frequent stooping and lifting traps from pond, repair crawfish traps as needed, weigh and tag crawfish, wash and grade crawfish, load crawfish in trucks to deliver to markets/customers, load and unload trucks. Crawfish worker duties include: handling crawfish; weighing, washing, grading, tagging, cleaning, peeling, and packaging crawfish; dumping crawfish sacks; preparing crawfish for sale/consumption; inspecting crawfish for defects; pick/remove trash/foreign material from crawfish; follow safety regulations and maintain records; cleanup and sanitization of worksite and equipment.
