Agriculture Equipment Operator to operate equipment used at a nursery. Must have the correct type of license required by State and Federals laws, and drivers responsible for transporting workers will be required to have a valid and unexpired Federal Farm Labor Contractor or Federal Farm Labor Contractor Employee Registration with driving authorization. Will be responsible for operating the motorized vehicles and equipment used to move products at the nursery. Must be able to safely operate the vehicles that are used to transport workers to and from worksites. Should be able to provide proof of accident-free driving record and background. Workers may be requested to submit to random drug or alcohol tests at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. Must be able to reach, bend and lift items weighing 70 pounds. Must be able to work outdoors in dusty/dirty conditions, in extreme heat and cold inclement weather. Must be able to listen to, understand, and follow simple instructions of supervisors and dispatcher. Must be able to work in fields where ants, snakes and poison ivy are encountered. The alternative work includes the repair of irrigation and various equipment, and tools used at the nursery. Use of personal cell phone or other personal electronic devices during working hours strictly prohibited except for work-related calls or emergencies and violation may result in immediate termination. Debe poseer el tipo de licencia requerido por las leyes estatales y federales; asimismo, los conductores encargados de transportar a los trabajadores deberán contar con un registro federal vigente y válido de Contratista de Mano de Obra Agrícola o de Empleado de Contratista de Mano de Obra Agrícola que incluya autorización para conducir. Será responsable de operar los vehículos motorizados y la maquinaria utilizada para trasladar productos dentro del vivero. Debe ser capaz de operar de manera segura los vehículos utilizados para transportar a los trabajadores hacia y desde los lugares de trabajo. Debe poder acreditar un historial de conducción sin accidentes ni infracciones graves. Es posible que se solicite a los trabajadores someterse a pruebas aleatorias de detección de drogas o alcohol, sin costo alguno para ellos. La negativa a realizarse la prueba o un resultado positivo pueden dar lugar a la terminación inmediata del empleo. Debe ser capaz de estirarse, agacharse y levantar objetos que pesen hasta 70 libras (aprox. 32 kg). Debe poder trabajar al aire libre en condiciones de polvo o suciedad, así como bajo calor extremo, frío intenso o condiciones climáticas adversas. Debe ser capaz de escuchar, comprender y seguir instrucciones sencillas impartidas por los supervisores y el despachador. Debe poder trabajar en campos donde pueda haber hormigas, serpientes e hiedra venenosa. Las tareas alternativas incluyen la reparación de sistemas de riego, así como de diversos equipos y herramientas utilizados en el vivero. Queda estrictamente prohibido el uso de teléfonos celulares u otros dispositivos electrónicos personales durante el horario laboral, salvo para llamadas relacionadas con el trabajo o emergencias; el incumplimiento de esta norma puede resultar en la terminación inmediata del empleo.
